Caravans have been spotted in the car park of a Screwfix in Reading. Thames Valley Police received reports of the illegal encampment on Monday, September 5.

The unauthorised encampment was set up outside the Screwfix on Hyperion Way in Reading, just off of Rose Kiln Lane. Reports were made to the police at around 9am on Monday morning.

Thames Valley Police served a section 60 notice to those on the encampment, giving them the power to ask for them to leave. The caravans that were parked on the site have now left.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "Thames Valley Police received a report of an unauthorised encampment at around 9am on Monday (5/9). Those on the encampment were served with a Section 60c and have since left the area."

A spokesperson for Screwfix said: "Screwfix store in Reading - Hyperion Way is fully open to customers, with regular opening hours."
