OROFINO — Clearwater County fire agencies snuffed a structure fire Wednesday that had started in a clothes dryer vent.

According to a news release from the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office, John and Vicki Russell at 397 Timber Rim Drive, in Orofino, reported the fire at 2:38 p.m. Wednesday. Clearwater County deputies, Clearwater-Potlatch Timber Protection Agency and Clearwater Ambulance responded and used fire extinguishers to slow the blaze, preventing it from spreading further. The fire was then quickly extinguished.
